Frequently Asking Questions

FAQ

What is DTF Transfers?

A DTF (Direct To Film) transfer is a printing technique in which detailed, full-color designs are printed onto a specialized film. The designs are then transferred onto fabrics such as cotton, polyester, and linen using a heat press machine set to 280–300°F (155–160°C) with a pressure of 6 KG for 9–13 seconds.

What is the instruction of printing shirts with DTF films?

1. Pre-Heat the Fabric
Adjust your heat press to 280–300°F (155–160°C) and set the pressure to 6 KG. Preheat the fabric for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and smooth out wrinkles, ensuring better adhesion of the design.

2. Place the DTF Film
Lay the fabric on the heat press platen. Position the printed DTF film on top of the fabric, with the design side facing down (ink side touching the fabric).

3. Apply Pressure and Heat
Close the heat press and apply medium to firm pressure. Press for 9-13 seconds, adjusting based on the type of fabric and film being used. Ensure the pressure is evenly distributed for consistent results.

4. Remove the Film
After pressing, open the heat press and let the fabric cool for 10 seconds .Then, Peel off the film.

5. Optional Second Press
To enhance durability and set the design further, place a piece of parchment paper or Teflon sheet over the print. Press again for an additional 5–10 seconds at the same temperature.

Tips for Effective Pressing

  • Always refer to the recommended temperature, time, and pressure.
  • If the design does not adhere well, consider re-pressing with more pressure or a slightly higher temperature.
  • Use a heat-resistant cover sheet to protect heat-sensitive fabrics from scorching.
